Meet Our Founder,
Ntombi Madhina

Founder & Counsellor

At the heart of Ukukhanya Centre is our founder, Ntombi Madhina, a dedicated and passionate counsellor whose early experiences have deeply influenced her professional and personal journey.

From a young age, Ntombi discovered a profound sense of fulfilment while volunteering at children's homes during school holidays. Providing care, support, and companionship to children in need not only opened her eyes to the transformative impact of compassionate support but also ignited a lifelong passion for helping others and contributing positively to the community.

In addition, Ntombi Madhina is an extension of the Children's Courts in South Africa, conducting assessments and counselling, offering expert testimony and developing comprehensive care plans tailored to the uniqueness of each case. She brings a wealth of expertise and a heartfelt dedication to the welfare of advocacy. She collaborates closely with legal professionals, families, and community resources to ensure the best possible outcomes for the judicial system.

Ntombi's educational background is as impressive as it is relevant to her calling. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Pretoria in 2015, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health in 2019. These qualifications have equipped her with a strong foundation in both theory and practical applications, enabling her to understand and address the complexities of individual and community health.

Established by Ntombi, the Ukukhanya Centre embodies her vision to serve as a beacon of hope and healing in Lynnwood Ridge. In her words, "My ultimate goal for the Ukukhanya Centre is for it to become a beacon of hope and healing in the community, providing a range of therapeutic services that empower individuals and families to overcome obstacles and lead fulfilling lives." Ntombi's mission is clear: to advocate, support, and empower everyone, ensuring they have the opportunity to lead fulfilling and dignified lives.

Outside of her professional life, Ntombi is an avid traveller and enjoys partaking in various outdoor activities, which she believes are essential for mental and physical well-being. She also treasures spending time with her family and indulging in arts and crafts, activities that refuel her creativity and passion.

Through the Ukukhanya Centre, Ntombi Madhina is not just a counsellor but a catalyst for change, fostering hope and healing where it is most needed. Her commitment to her work and her community makes the Centre more than just a practice; it is a vital part of the community's journey towards greater health and happiness.
